On 27 April, we held a Gala Fundraiser at Leonardo Royal Hotel London City, to raise funds for the Rifco Associates Programme - our bespoke programme which champions emerging British South Asian talent.
What a night it was, and what phenomenal talent came out to support us: Harpz Kaur was an incredible master of ceremonies, comedian Tez Ilyas had us in stitches and Raxstar performed a special spoken word piece about Rifco’s journey, commissioned through our 21 Artists strand.
Laila Zaidi, Reece Bahia and Navin Kundra left us all spellbound, singing hits from Rifco musicals including an exclusive of our forthcoming blockbuster musical Frankie Goes To Bollywood. The inimitable Rishi Rich rounded off the evening with his first live set in the UK in over a decade, featuring performances from the incredible Veronica, Kiranee and Jagtar. Plus, our very own Associate Director Ameet Chana smashed the ceiling and fundraising target with a lively and entertaining auction.
This was our very first fundraising gala, and we were overwhelmed by the warmth and generosity of all our friends and supporters. A special shout out to our Board of Trustees for helping us reach this milestone and raise the brand.
As a registered charity, we're always fundraising to fund our work, and always looking for fresh new ways to champion British South Asian talent. So come join our family! Head here to donate, or join our Kohinoor membership scheme. Or email sue@rifcotheatre.com to find out more. And see you at the next gala!
